¿Cómo hacer que un script unix se ejecute cada 15 segundos?
He visto algunas soluciones, incluyendo reloj y simplemente ejecutar un bucle (y dormir) script en segundo plano, pero nada ha sido ideal.
Tengo un script que necesita ejecutarse cada 15 segundos, y dado que cron no admite segundos, me queda averiguar algo más.
¿Cuál es la forma más robusta y eficiente de ejecutar un script cada 15 segundos en unix? El script también necesita ejecutarse después de un reinicio.

Usaría cron para ejecutar un script cada minuto, y hacer que ese script ejecute su script cuatro veces con un sueño de 15 segundos entre ejecuciones.
(Eso asume que su script se ejecuta rápidamente; podría ajustar los tiempos de espera si no lo hace.)
De esa manera, obtendrá todos los beneficios de cron
, así como su período de ejecución de 15 segundos.

Si insistes en ejecutar tu script desde cron:

Esto es casi tan eficiente como se pone. La parte importante solo se ejecuta cada 15 segundos y el script duerme el resto del tiempo (sin perder ciclos).

Desde mi respuesta anterior se me ocurrió otra solución que es diferente y quizás mejor. Este código permite que los procesos se ejecuten más de 60 veces por minuto con una precisión de microsegundos. Necesitas el programa Usleep para que esto funcione. Debe ser bueno hasta 50 veces por segundo.
