Cómo comprobar el bloqueo de archivos? [duplicar]

Cuando me enfrenté a un problema similar, terminé con el siguiente código:

Las otras respuestas se basan en información antigua. Este proporciona una mejor solución.

Hace mucho tiempo era imposible obtener de manera confiable la lista de procesos que bloqueaban un archivo porque Windows simplemente no rastreaba esa información. Para admitir la API Restart Manager, ahora se realiza un seguimiento de esa información. La API de Restart Manager está disponible a partir de Windows Vista y Windows Server 2008 (Restart Manager: Run-time Requirements).

Armé el código que toma la ruta de un archivo y devuelve un List<Process> de todos los procesos que están bloqueando ese archivo.

También puede comprobar si algún proceso está utilizando este archivo y mostrar una lista de programas que debe cerrar para continuar como lo hace un instalador.

En lugar de usar interop, puede usar los métodos de clase. NET FileStream Bloquear y Desbloquear:

Puede llamar a LockFile a través de interop en la región del archivo que le interesa. Esto no lanzará una excepción, si tiene éxito tendrá un bloqueo en esa parte del archivo (que está retenido por su proceso), ese bloqueo se mantendrá hasta que llame a UnlockFile o su proceso muere.

Aquí hay una variación del código de DixonD que agrega el número de segundos a esperar para que el archivo se desbloquee, e intenta de nuevo:

Luego, entre las dos líneas, otro proceso podría bloquear fácilmente el archivo, dándole el mismo problema que estaba tratando de evitar para empezar: excepciones.

Sin embargo, de esta manera, usted sabrá que el problema es temporal, y volver a intentarlo más tarde. (Por ejemplo, podría escribir un hilo que, si encuentra un bloqueo mientras intenta escribir, sigue volviendo a intentarlo hasta que el bloqueo se haya ido.)

La excepción IOException, por otro lado, no es lo suficientemente específica como para que el bloqueo sea la causa de la falla de IO. Podría haber razones que no son temporales.

Puede ver si el archivo está bloqueado al intentar leerlo o bloquearlo usted mismo primero.
